LipiView: Ocular Surface Interferometer

The LipiView Interferometer measures the absolute thickness of the tear film lipid layer by analyzing more than one billion data points of the interferometric image of the tear film.

The patient’s tear film can be seen as an array of colors. Physicians and patients will now be able to see the interference pattern from the tear film and have a visual reference to view specular observations of the tear film.

In other words, LipiView allows us to look at the lipid layer of the tear film in real time and determine any deficiencies or abnormalities that will better help your doctor customize a treatment approach for you, depending on symptoms and severity.

LipiView is also a replicable and reliable measurement that can be repeated over the of course a therapy to objectively track improvement and adjust therapy as needed.
